Roy Moore supporter and IFB Bill Atkinson convicted in 2012 of destroying evidence - Nicholas - 11-30-2017

Roy Moore supporter Bill Atkinson is an IFB and graduate of Hyles-Anderson College who was convicted in 2012 of destroying evidence concerning his own son's molesting of orphan children in Honduras: http://www.al.com/news/mobile/index.ssf/2017/11/minister_convicted_of_obstruct.html#incart_river_home

Birds of a feather

Not to downplay the situation but I'm curious as to why the OP or news website would include "Roy Moore supporter" in the post. Why not "Donald Trump supporter" or "Conservative GOP"? (which is probably true as well).

Sorry to call it out on this but I found that to be ridiculous to be included in the title, especially when much of Trump's base is against the media. This is adding fuel to Trump's voter base. I was upset at the Kimmel incident as well. This isn't doing any good for Doug Jones.

I'm confused as to how this adds fuel to Trump's voter base.

A lot of Trump's voter base will follow his fake notion that all news is #FakeNews except for one cable news network starting with a F.

Thus this article, along with the main editorial rejection of Roy Moore: http://www.al.com/opinion/index.ssf/2017/11/our_view_alabama_voters_must_r.html

^^ same website as the OP's link.

I think this adds fuel to the #FakeNews crowd and I don't like it. Roy Moore is spinning this as the establishment, liberals, and media going against him and Trump and his supporters are swallowing this lie like kool-aid. Not sure if I made it more clear.

Polls don't look for this either: https://www.politico.com/story/2017/10/18/trump-media-fake-news-poll-243884

One of the best ways to get rid of a troll is to ignore it, just like what has happened with Milo. If the media continue to put the troll's name in a news article of a guy that might've been associated with Moore through one event, well it gives Moore the fuel to his lie that the media is against him... thus garnering him more support and winning the senate seat even with all these allegations.

An evil propagandist during the 1930s-1940s in Germany once said that if you repeat a lie often, people will believe it.

I agree with James.

Reporting on a guy that broke the law: News.

Headlining the story about the guy who broke the law as a political supporter of X candidate.... this doesn’t feel like news anymore.

Both sides do it. Anyone remember how many Clinton friends and business partners went to jail, prosecuted in criminal courts?

Trolls are bullies. Ignoring bullies emboldened them.

RE: Roy Moore supporter and IFB Bill Atkinson convicted in 2012 of destroying evidence - myotch - 12-03-2017

I can see that. But it doesn't explain the need to connect this one lone bully music minister to a political candidate. Is the story about the bully or about the candidate? If it's about the candidate, then what's the purpose of the story about the years-old news of the bully music minister? At what point does it turn into muckraking, yellow journalism. an unofficial part of "Team Candidate Y"?

It's about a pattern of behavior. It doesn't matter what the person's job is.

And perhaps the OP connected them in an attempt to show how common this sexually abusive bullying behavior is amongst those who claim to be Christians.

That assumes a lot. Is this behavior not pervasive in secular settings (I'm thinking, say, government school teachers, university fraternity members, or any given position in the entertainment industry)?

Isn't the easier and obvious explanation that the muckraking writer wanted to paint Moore (and his voters) with the past crime of one of his supporters?
